Diaper Cake

A couple of years ago, for my sister's baby shower, one of our family friends, Fran, made Christina the most amazing diaper cake. I mean it was AMAZING. I still don't think I have seen one like it. Anyway, it inspired me and since then, I started making them and I have to say, I just don't believe that you can have a baby shower, or a baby for that matter, without a diaper cake. I have been making and selling them a bit here and there and giving them as gifts. Here is my most recent, for a baby boy. I just love it. I think I am going to start an etsy shop or a website but I need a good name.....My approach to diaper cakes it that yes, the diapers will be used, but that the cake should match the nursery so it can be a decoration in the nursery for at least a few weeks, so I never use newborn diapers.

I am apparently making a bunch of Dr. Suess themed cakes for my other sister's shower next weekend, will post pics of those then.

And no, I still don't have an anniversary dinner dress, but wasn't the lunch hour specifically invented for trips to the mall??? I think so.

  1. Brand New Baby 3 Tier Diaper Cake

When it comes to choosing a gift to give to an expectant mother there are so many ideas available that one could be excused for finding it all rather confusing and tiresome. Many of the gifts available are necessary and will be appreciated but there really is not much that is unique and different about them. It is pretty certain that other people will give clothing for the new baby, baby products such bathing essentials, and of course toys. So often expecting parents end up with loads of toys for their new baby and many of them get given away or are packed away. If you do not want to give yet another teddy bear or baby grow but want to give a gift that will stand out then you need look no further than the wonderful and functionally practical gift of baby diaper cakes.
